The Netshield Whale Pinger from Future Oceans is designed to help reduce interactions with humpback whales and protect fishing gear from damage caused by whale strikes. Operating at 3 kHz with a sound pressure level of 145 dB, it provides a practical solution for fishing operations seeking to improve whale safety while maintaining fishing efficiency.
Built for demanding marine environments, it features a durable, UV-resistant copolymer casing and tough thermoplastic internal housing. Its lightweight design allows quick attachment to net ropes without threading the rope through the casing. The water-activated switch automatically turns the pinger on and off as it enters and leaves the water.
The unit offers a choice of alkaline or lithium-ion batteries, providing up to 24 days of battery life with alkaline or 48 days with lithium-ion, based on 12 hours of use per day. An LED indicator displays battery status and provides a red low-battery warning.
Supplied with batteries and an attachment cord, the Netshield Whale Pinger is easy to install and maintain. It has been tested to depths of 1,000 metres and comes with a 12-month warranty.
