Description
The easyAtoN Type 1 features a rugged IP67 housing that can be easily attached to fixed objects, such as buoys, to avoid collisions by transmitting the marker’s identification and position. The device is capable of creating “”real”” electronic navigation markers that appear on AIS-enabled electronic chart plotters or navigation PC software. The easyAtoN Type 1 is designed for typical use at marina or harbor entrances, maritime warning signs or any type of fixed or floating navigation marker buoys. The easyAtoN Type 1 operates in AIS FATDMA mode (Fixed Access Time Division Multiple Access) in a special time slot that must be reserved by an AIS base station.
The ship’s AIS system receives the information that this slot is occupied by the base station and does not transmit its AIS data within this slot. The easyAtoN Type 1 is pre-programmed by the administrator via a programming socket and special programming software so that only this slot is used to transmit the position and identification of the marker on both AIS frequencies.Within the range of the AIS base station in operation, a separate time slot must be reserved for each AtoN Type 1 to transmit into the AIS traffic and inform all incoming and outgoing vessels.
To configure the easyAtoN Type 1, the A124 programming socket (available as an accessory) must be connected to a PC or laptop running the programming software via a USB cable. The easyAtoN Type 1 is plugged into the programming socket. The socket can be used by an administrator for more than one easyAtoN Type 1 configuration.
