Before Choosing a Recovery Net

  • Confirm the net complies with local and international safety standards (USCG and SOLAS).
  • Choose a minimum width of 4 ft (1.2 m) .
  • Use the sizing tool below to ensure the net extends into the water by 2 meters.
  • The design should allow recovery of an unconscious person in a horizontal position. 
  • Where possible, select a net that is lightweight and can be deployed without a mechanical lifting device.

What is the fixing length on your vessel?

The fixing length is the distance from where you plan to attach the net — for example, the deck edge, railing, or another secure point — down to the waterline.
