Description
Simply open the case, remove the easyAIRDROP Rechargeable, and throw it into the water. An automatic trigger function activates the internal VHF locator unit when it is submerged. Once activated, the device sends a current VHF emergency telegram to all VHF receivers within range. The position is updated every minute with COG, SOG, and the unit’s identification number. The housing consists of two movable plastic parts and is held together with two straps. A soluble tablet secures the straps until the entire unit is submerged in water. The vmsTRACK-PRO-CS VHF rescue search unit is mounted inside the housing. Dissolving the tablet opens the housing, and the device begins transmitting via water activation. A weight on the bottom keeps the easyAIRDROP Rechargeable upright to achieve the best possible radiation. With the long antenna, the radio range to a ship will be 9 to 12 nm. SAR aircraft or helicopters can receive the signal at a distance of up to 80 nm and an altitude of 150 m.
