Function
W810 Satellite Bi-Directional Radio Buoy is working through Iridium* satellite coverage to ensure signaling and remote localization of objects or substances abandoned in the sea. Any informations received from the W810 Satellite Bi-Directional Radio Buoy are available through the Iridium* system or through our own messaging system which, upon the customer’s request, can also forward the received information by email, SMS or Inmarsat.*
By sending out a message at (programmable) time intervals, it is possible to determine, via an electronic messaging system, object location, time of detection, battery charge state and water surface temperature (providing the special option has been installed). Additionally, a flash light indicator (which can be activated continuously or via a message sent through Iridium*) enables drifting objects to be easily located also at night-time or under poor visibility conditions.
W880 Longline HF Radio Buoy
W880 is a radio beacon active in the HF band to signal fishing systems lost or abandoned in the sea, e.g. longline or sea line fishing systems. By sending out a message at (programmable) time intervals, it is possible to determine, via a special on-board W830 reception system, the position of longlines, any unexpected drifting due to line breaking and estimated time of arrival.
Information is transmitted in an encrypted format and can only be decrypted by the radio beacon owner, and transmission times are also suitably optimized to prevent illegal interception. The high-capacity battery pack and consumption optimization
efforts ensure a prolonged working time – with the W880 radio beacon able to operate for up to 10 days (according to message transmission time intervals).
